As many as 28 people were deported last year after they were arrested in anti-prostitution and anti-human trafficking operations, police said on Thursday.
Police said 25 raids were conducted last year against prostitution and human trafficking. In these operations:

Among them are six Maldivians and 26 foreigners

Among those deported were those arrested earlier last year
According to the police, 14 raids were carried out in 2022 based on tip-offs. Eleven of these operations were carried out jointly by police and Maldives Immigration.
According to the police:

Last year, 11 cases of prostitution and human trafficking were investigated

Investigations in six of these cases are still underway

Two cases were concluded and forwarded to the Prosecutor General's Office for prosecution

Three cases were filed
