Religious conservative Adhaalath Party on Wednesday decided to support President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in the upcoming presidential election.
Adhaalath Party spokesman Ali Nazeer said on Wednesday evening that the party's consultative meeting held to decide on supporting President Solih in the upcoming presidential election lasted for two hours. At the meeting:

Of these, 38 voted in favour of President Solih
According to a resolution adopted by Adhaalath on Wednesday evening, the party decided to support the president as some of the issues were agreed upon in their discussions with the president. Here are some of the highlights from Adhaalath:

Adhaalath has worked with various political parties in the recent past and based on the experience and opportunities available, the party's best interest is to work with President Solih.
The Adhaalath Party is already part of the ruling coalition. President Solih, who has been given the party ticket to run for a second term, has repeatedly said that MDP can win the next presidential election by forming alliances with other parties.
