The third round of financial assistance to self-employed workers, whose income has been affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic, has been opened for applications.
Economic ministry on Thursday announced that programme, funded by the World Bank under its Covid-19 Emergency Income Support Project will undertake a third round of financial assistance to self-employed workers.
The ministry said that after evaluating the applications submitted in the second round of the programme, funds are being released to the deserving.
In the third round:

Candidates need to apply for financial assistance via an online form

Application deadline is May 31

Assistance of up to MVR 60,000 will be given

Funds will be released in two instalments; up to 80% in the first round
The conditions to be met in requesting help are as follows:

Should have earned income from self-employment in the last one year till September
-
Not to be in a paid job for the last one month till the time of submission of application; if the applicant is employed, they should not be working for more than 20 hours a week
