Criminal Court on Monday concluded hearings in the trial of former housing minister Mohamed Muizzu for allegedly giving false statements incriminating the state during the proceedings of a case filed by Noomadi Resorts against the Maldivian government at the Court of Arbitration in the Hague, Netherlands.
Noomadi was contracted to build housing units in the atolls during former President Mohamed Nasheed's administration. Muizz was the housing minister in the previous government when the contract with the company was terminated on the grounds that the work was not progressing as per the agreement.
