
4 injured in speedboat, dinghy collision
A military diver arrived on scene and immediately jumped in and rescued the man.

Four people have been injured after a speedboat and a dinghy collided near Hulhumale Saturday evening, with the speedboat driving over one of the people that had fallen into the sea upon impact.
The accident was reported to the police around 7:55pm.
Police told reporters that four people were injured in the accident and taken to hospital for treatment.

Police did not disclose the details of their injuries.
In a message sent to the media, MNDF said that when the speedboat crashed into the dinghy, one of the passengers on the dinghy fell into the water, and the speedboat had driven over him.
The remaining passengers on the dinghy called MNDF because they were unable to save the man overboard, and a military diver arrived on scene and immediately jumped in and rescued the man.
"With the help of MNDF officers aboard the Harbour Craft 113, the man was taken to the MNDF Kalaaseenu Koshi. The injured man was taken to Hulhumale Hospital in a MNDF vehicle around 7 pm," said MNDF.
Police are investigating the accident.
