A passenger involved in a road accident between a car and a motorcycle on the link road connecting L. Gan and Fonadhoo was transferred to Malé for leg surgery.
Police said the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Saturday. Two individuals on the motorcycle were injured in the collision.
According to Gan Regional Hospital, both individuals sustained injuries to their heads and legs. A hospital official confirmed that a 44-year-old male patient was later discharged.
The official stated the man had suffered a significant fracture above the middle of his right leg. Surgery was required to treat the injury, but the procedure could not be performed at Gan Regional Hospital.
Both patients underwent CT scans, which confirmed no brain injuries.
The second individual’s condition has not been officially disclosed beyond the initial report of injuries. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
