Hanbo Company, which is developing luxury K-Park Residence flats in Hulhumale, alleged on Saturday that its minority shareholder Hassan Mamdooh is trying to destroy evidence by not cooperating with the investigation into his alleged sale of flats in the name of Hanbo Company.

The main shareholder of Hanbo Company had filed a police complaint seeking a criminal investigation into allegations that Mamdooh and another person had taken money from several people through a huge fraud by forging the signature of Jin Shi Hu, the managing director who holds 95% stake in Hanbo Company.

The company said in a statement on Saturday that it is in the process of verifying the veracity of transactions carried out by forging Jin Shi Hu's signature to sell apartments without the company's knowledge.

The company said it has held meetings to inform about the work done so far and is sharing information, including those who shared documents with the company.

Pointing out that the biggest challenge posed by Mamdooh so far has been the inability to call board meetings of the company, the company said that decisions taken during an extraordinary meeting of the company on Thursday have removed the hurdles posed by Mamdhooh.

It was decided in the meeting:

  • The company's shareholding structure has been revised to add a new shareholder

  • A director has been added to the company's board

  • As a result of this, the company claims that the work required to be done through HDC (Urbanco) and state authorities in connection with the K-Park project will be done at a faster pace

According to the statement, the company's current task is to verify the authenticity of the information provided by the complainants following the announcement issued by the company on May 2. In this context, the company said:

  • That the company's documents were seized by Mamdooh and they were not returned

  • That attempts were made to destroy evidence by not cooperating with the investigation

  • The process of verifying the authenticity of the documents is facing a lot of hurdles as the state authorities are also not able to get the documents in its entirety

  • Therefore, the company asks buyers to report to the police and share the information with the agency as has been requested by the police

Since the company's board has also decided to reopen the grievance process, if there is any complaint regarding K-Park residence, it can now be filed with the company within a month starting from Thursday.
