Maldives Reform Movement (MRM) has filed a civil suit seeking to quash the Elections Commission’s (EC) decision to dissolve the party.
The Elections Commission decided to dissolve the MRM on May 24 after it failed to meet the 3,000 members required by the law. With that:

MRM was told not to conduct any political activities

The party decided to file a case in the Civil Court to quash the EC decision

The party sought an interim order staying the implementation of the EC's decision until the court decides on the matter; the order was issued on May 28
-
MRM has told the court that it was trying to file a case in the Civil Court within 30 days to quash the EC's decision; the stay order was issued for 30 days
-
EC sought a review of Civil Court order; On June 23, the Civil Court ruled that the order could not be reviewed
MRM Secretary General Abdul Aleem told Atoll Times on Sunday that the case was filed in the Civil Court on June 22.
However, the court has not yet decided whether to accept the case, he said.
