Opposition PPM-PNC candidate Dr Mohamed Muizz said on Wednesday that the people will see a government that pays attention to the people's wishes under his regime.

Muizz is campaigning in the Shaviyani atoll for the September 9 presidential election. He met with the people of Sh. Foakaidhoo on Wednesday evening.

Muizz's assurance to the people is that his government will respond to the wishes of the people and that he will be seen by the people even after the campaigning.

“I will not be someone who comes to campaign like this and will never be seen again,” he said.

The sitting mayor of Male said he would work closely with the people and that would be obvious in the time he had spent in the Male City Council.

“We are going to the people and listening to them,” Muizz said, referring to the work of the city council.

The main opposition candidate said he would not “disappear” and will remain steadfast in serving the people of the country.

Muizz also announced some promises to the island. Among other things, Muizz promised to build the roads and provide basic services to the health centre.

Muizz said that all the services included in his manifesto will be available to the island.

"Building housing, building resources for the future of the youth are part of our policy for all the islands," he said.
