
Of 5 cities, MDP takes only Addu
Earlier, in the 2018 presidential election, President Solih won majorities in Kulhudhuffushi, Fuvahmulah and Thinadhoo.

Addu is the only city in the country that has given a majority to the MDP candidate President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih in the first round of the presidential election, according to provisional results.
The opposition PPM-PNC candidate Dr Mohamed Muizz won the majority in all the cities except Addu, according to the provisional results. The president had declared G.Dh. Thinadhoo as a city 10 days ago.

Earlier, in the 2018 presidential election, President Solih won majorities in Kulhudhuffushi, Fuvahmulah and Thinadhoo.
According to the results of the individual polling stations in Male, the MDP, which had been taking the majority in the city until recently, won only two polling stations.
The results of one polling station in Kulhudhuffushi were relatively equal while Muizzu won all the other polling stations in Thinadhoo and Fuvahmulah.
The results from the islands of Addu’s Hulhudhoo, Meedhoo and Feydhoo, the majority of votes were cast for Muizz. The results of the entire Addu weighed pro the President, because the populous Hithadhoo and Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo gave him majority of their votes.
Atoll Times have received the provisional results of all the boxes, and President Solih won majority in his native atoll Lhaviyani, as well as North Ari Atoll and Addu. The PPM-PNC is shown to have won the majority in all the other regions.
The president has been saying that the election will end in one round. However, since no candidate received 50% of the votes, they will both go to a second round.
