6 new parliamentary constituencies; total seats to hike to 93

MPs will be elected to represent six new constituencies, with the total number of parliamentary seats increasing to 93 in the 2024 parliamentary election, the Elections Commission announced Wednesday.
The Elections Commission has released its report on the 2024 parliamentary constituencies.
According to the report, the division of electoral constituencies was reviewed and six constituencies were added due to the change in the population of the administrative constituencies.
The newly added constituencies for next year's parliamentary elections are:

Hulhumale Central

Hulhumale North

Hithaadhoo Constituency (Hithaadhoo, Maalhos, Dharavandhoo)

Huraa (Huraa, Himmafushi, Gulhi)

Kolamaafushi (Kolamaafushi, Devvadhoo)

Feydhoo North (Feydhoo, Maradhoo-Feydhoo)
After this change, Eydhafushi, GA. Villingili and Addu Meedhoo constituencies will be separate.
The rule for determining the number of members of parliament is:

Two members for every 5,000 registered population in each administrative division or for each administrative division insufficient

If the registered population of an administrative district exceeds 5,000, one member for every 5,000 persons exceeding the first 5,000 persons of the population
With the new change, the current names of some constituencies have also changed:

Name of Hulhumale constituency will change to Hulhumale South

The name of the constituency of Guraidhoo to Maafushi

Th. Guraidho constituency will be renamed as Guraidhoo

Addu Feydhoo constituency name changed to South Feydhoo
