An elderly drug addict has personally requested the court to keep him in custody for as long as possible after he was arrested in a robbery case.
According to his court order, the 60-year-old was arrested for snatching a phone near a park in Male. He pleaded guilty to the offence and asked the court to remand him in jail for as long as possible.
According to him, he was addicted to drugs. He said he was also rejected by his family due to theft and drug crimes. Therefore, he asked for the longest possible detention.
He was remanded in custody for a month. According to the court order, he has been arrested several times in various cases so far this year.
