The e-Gate service has been resumed as part of the efforts to provide easier access to immigration services for Maldivians travelling abroad.
Immigration has announced that e-Gate will be available for travellers traveling abroad from Monday.
Although the e-Gate service was available before Covid-19, it was suspended with the outbreak.
Once again, Maldivians will be able to get their own immigration clearance using the e-Gate.

e-Gates are set up to self-obtain immigration clearance with easy instructions

Scan the barcode on the boarding pass on the scanner and then scan the biodata page of the passport

Then, the gate will be opened by affirming the fingerprint taken for verification at the time of passport issuance

The e-Gate service will also be available at the arrival and departure halls of Velana International Airport
Immigration said the agency aims to expand convenient travel services for international travelers with the help of modern facilities.
