Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said on Thursday that paper tickets will be sold at Addu, Fuvahmulah and Laamu Atoll, from Saturday onwards, where Raajje Transport Link (RTL) operates bus services.
MTCC said that with this change, tickets can be purchased directly on the buses in the atolls just like in Male.
According to MTCC, paper tickets were introduced because there was demand for it, and that making these ticket slips available on the bus itself facilitates the ticketing process for all customers, especially the elderly.
Paper tickets are made available:
-
By slipping money into a collection box inside the bus
-
Since money changing on the buses will be difficult, MTCC says that the customers should have cash on hand in the exact amount required for the ticket.
MTCC informs that they do not accommodate money changing on the buses to save time for their passengers and to not cause delays in the buses schedule.
Paper tickets can be purchased in the bus, and bus tickets will not be sold at any MTCC terminal.
