Thirteen MPs, mainly from the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), signed up to the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) Thursday.
The MPs handed over the forms to President Mohamed Muizzu, who also serves as the PNC president, and the party's chairperson Abdul Raheem Abdullah during a ceremony held at Dharubaaruge Thursday evening.

With the 13 MPs who signed up for the PNC Thursday evening, the total number of government MPs in parliament will rise to 17.
