Bids sought for Thinadhoo-Kaadehdhoo bridge feasibility study

The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure has announced that it is looking for a consultant for the project linking Thinadhoo with Kaadehdhoo by bridge.
Kaadehdhoo Airport will be converted into an international airport and connected to Thinadhoo by a bridge.
The state budget for next year has allocated MVR 4.4 million for the project.
The Ministry of Infrastructure on Wednesday announced for the selection of a contractor for the preliminary studies, assessments and feasibility study of the Thinadhoo-Kaadehdhoo link project.
According to the Terms of Reference for this work:

The main objective of the project is to provide safer transportation between Thinadhoo and Kaadehdhoo and reduce the time spent transporting people and goods from one island to another

The length of the bridge between Thinadhoo and Kaadehdhoo is estimated at 3-3.5 km

In addition to the bridge, a highway link road may have to be included

Consultancy work will be given 45 days from the date of signing

The main factors considered in evaluating applicants are:

At least 10 years of work experience

At least seven years of experience in the relevant field
