Soldiers from the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Central Area Command and Coast Guard Third Squadron captured a large crocodile found near the Kandima Resort in Dhaalu atoll on Wednesday.
Authorities initiated the search following a call from the police at 4:08 pm. Coast Guard personnel quickly reached the area aboard a harborcraft.

The nine-foot-long crocodile caused a stir, as encounters with such creatures are uncommon in the Maldives.
While crocodiles can sometimes be found in certain parts of the archipelago, their presence near a bustling resort is noteworthy.
