For the first time in the Maldives, work has begun at Velana International Airport (VIA) to install an aerobridge that will allow people to walk to the plane directly from the airport terminal.
The Maldives Airports Company (MACL) said in an 'X' post on Wednesday:

Since there are no aerobridges in Maldives, travellers have to walk out of the terminal or take an airport shuttle to the flight.
The installation of aerobridges at VIA like many airports across the world will definitely provide ease for passengers to board flights.
