Govt grants extension for land swap from Giraavaru to Gulhi
According to an earlier notification issued by the Housing Ministry, a total of 1,347 plots can be relocated.

The deadline for applications for swap land from Giraavaru lagoon to Gulhi lagoon has been extended.
More than 1,300 plots of land allocated under the Binnveriya Scheme during the government of former President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih will be transferred to the Gulhi lagoon.
According to the Housing Ministry, land plots were allotted in Giraavaru without sufficient land space to establish essential services on the reclaimed land.
According to an earlier notification issued by the Housing Ministry, a total of 1,347 plots can be relocated as some of the plots allotted from Giraavaru could not be taken away due to the change in the land use plan.

The ministry gazetted an announcement on Sunday saying that many people are requesting to extend the opportunity opened by the ministry to those who have received land from Giraavaru to move to Gulhi.

Application for transfer of land to Gulhi lagoon can be made through the Hiyaa Portal

If the number of applicants exceeds the stipulated number, the recipients of the land will be determined by a draw.
