Customs seizes 1kg of cocaine smuggled by air
Following the seizure, the case has been officially handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.

Maldives Customs has seized 1 kilogram of cocaine smuggled into the country by air, in an operation that took place on the 27th of last month.
According to a statement released by Customs on Monday, the drugs were discovered during a detailed inspection of a suspicious package that arrived in the Maldives by air.
Initial tests conducted by Customs officers confirmed the presence of cocaine. The total weight of the substance, including its packaging, was recorded at 1,020 grams.
Authorities estimate the street value of the seized drugs to be approximately MVR 2.5 million.
Following the seizure, the case has been officially handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
