People are being contacted through WhatsApp using various police logos and foreign numbers imitating immigration and law enforcement, police said on Thursday.
Police on Thursday said a masked man is making video calls, claiming problems with cash and credit cards and asking people to clarify their card details or show their cards to the person making the video call to resolve the issue.

Fraudulent transactions have been successful by obtaining card information in this way

Do not provide any card information, OTP code or personal information to any caller, the authorities will not ask you to

Police are advising the public to stay above such frauds and to not to share any card details, OTP codes or personal details with unknown persons. The police also advise the public on this occasion to please double check who the money is being sent to when transferring money for various purposes.
