Former state housing minister Akram Kamaluddin's mobile phone has been seized as the Anti Corruption Commission intensified its investigation into the contentious housing scheme launched by the previous government.
The 4,000 flats announced under the Gedhoruveriya Scheme were stopped by the ACC in late November last year as it investigated complaints that the registry was being handed over by "illegally announcing a list of beneficiaries" at the end of the previous government.

An ACC official told Atoll Times that it raided the homes of four officials of the committee under a court order including Akram.
