President Mohammed Muizzu has described his visit to India to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a third consecutive term as a very promising visit for the Maldives.
President Muizzu arrived in India on Sunday for the swearing-in ceremony. The President concluded his visit on Tuesday.
After his visit to India, the President said in an interview with state TV PSM that the visit was also important for other countries of the region. The President said the trip will open doors for developments that will benefit the people of Maldives.
"I hope that the good things going for Maldives will be better in the future through the relationship between the two countries. Our bilateral relationship will provide the best for the Maldives”, the President said.
“I am very happy that I have been invited by the Prime Minister of India”.
President Muizzu met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
