The Indian cricket team has been invited to visit Maldives to celebrate the victory of this year's T20 Cricket World Cup.
The Indian national cricket team was invited by the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) , the association representing resorts, to celebrate their victory in this year's Cricket World Cup.
Congratulating the Indian national cricket team on this comprehensive achievement in their official invitation, MMPRC CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree and MATI Secretary General Ahmed Nazeer expressed their desire to host the Indian team in Maldives.
The letter noted that Maldives offers unforgettable scenery, a pleasant atmosphere, personalised hospitality and unique experiences.
The invitation also highlighted the strong cultural and sporting ties between Maldives and India.
Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO & Managing Director of MMPRC, said that they are looking forward to the opportunity to host the Indian cricket team and providing them with the perfect destination to celebrate their success.
The invitation is made at a time when there is a decline in Indian tourists coming to Maldives. If the team accepts the invitation, it will go a long way in repairing the country's image among Indian tourists.
