Police have launched a probe into the deletion of emails from the official email account of former education minister Dr Aishath Ali.
In a message to the media on Thursday, the police said that the education ministry had approached the Police on Thursday seeking an inquiry into the matter.
The message added:

All emails in that email had been deleted

It was done last year
Aishath Ali took to Facebook on Monday saying that someone had tried to access her email address when she was minister. She added that the email was deactivated on November 17 last year. She said that if anyone had received a mail from the email since then, then it was not from her.
