During the meeting, Zameer presented a letter from Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu addressed to Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. However, the contents of the letter were not disclosed.
In a statement, the Maldivian foreign ministry said the two ministers discussed the strong ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, underpinned by shared Islamic heritage and common values.
Discussions centred on further enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities for multilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Both sides also touched on plans to hold the first round of bilateral political consultations between the two countries at a mutually agreed time.
