Two unlicensed foreign exchange businesses were stopped in an operation by police and the economic ministry.
Some details of the operation were revealed in a message sent to the media on Wednesday.
Police said one of the places stopped in the first operation conducted on Tuesday was Transfer Maldives. They were engaged in foreign currency exchange without a license, police said.
The second operation was conducted on Wednesday by the police.
