Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Chairman Ahmed Nasif has been removed from his position and appointed as the Chairman of Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO).
The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) announced that Nasif was transferred to WAMCO on Tuesday.
Nasif was appointed as HDC Chairman in November last year. Before that, he served as Chairman of the Regional Airports Company and previously held senior positions at HDC.
This marks the second time the HDC Chairman has been removed under the current administration. Nasif was appointed after the removal of his predecessor, Ahmed Zuhoor.
Nasif’s removal follows allegations that a plot of land in Hulhumale was allocated to Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed, brother of former HDC Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, despite his name not being on the list for the government’s 'Binveriyaa' housing scheme.
In connection with the case, the PCB temporarily suspended all members of the HDC board.
