Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has decided to reduce the export container fee for containers shipped abroad from Sunday.
As per the MPL notification:

For a 20-foot container – the fee would be reduced to MVR 1,132 from MVR 4,419
-
For a 20-foot container – the fee would be reduced to MVR 2,264 from MVR 8,767
With the change in prices, the cost of sending goods abroad will come down by up to 75%.
MPL said its board decided to make the change to encourage businesses exporting goods to sell local products in the international market at competitive prices and to promote export businesses.
