Mohamed Azad has been appointed as the Financial Controller at the finance ministry.
Azad was appointed to the post following the resignation of Fathimath Razeena, who was the Financial Controller for the past six years. She resigned from her post to go abroad for PhD studies.
In an announcement, finance ministry said Monday that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had appointed Azad as the Financial Controller under Article 44 (a) of the Public Finance Act.
According to the ministry, Azad:

holds a Master's degree in science in finance

holds a Bachelor's degree in business administration

previously served as the SOE Reform and Financial Consultant at the ministry
