Applications open for Broadcom membership

The Broadcom, composed of seven members, plays a critical role in regulating the broadcasting sector.

The President's Office on Monday announced the opening of applications for two upcoming vacancies in the Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom). 

This decision follows the upcoming expiration of the terms of two commission members, Mariyam Waheedha, who serves as the commission's president, and Ali Yoosuf. Their five-year terms are set to conclude next month.

The Broadcom, composed of seven members, plays a critical role in regulating the broadcasting sector. Members serve a five-year term and are appointed following a comprehensive selection process.

The opportunity to apply for the vacant posts will remain open until 12 pm next Tuesday. Interested candidates can submit their applications during the designated time window of 8:30 am to 12 pm on weekdays, excluding public holidays.

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Completed application forms

  • Affidavits

  • Criminal record forms

  • Debt record forms
