R. Dhuvaafaru council member Mariyam Yashfa has been instructed to report to the police for questioning in connection with allegations against her.
Yashfa told Atoll Times on Monday that she was initially contacted by Dhuvaafaru police and asked to appear for questioning. She was later contacted by police headquarters and instructed to report directly.
"I requested a summons, and the police informed me that the summons would be issued earlier today. I am expected to appear tomorrow," Yashfa said.
Yashfa also performed a poem at a recent rally held by the Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) at the carnival area in Male, and participated in a poem recital at the MDP camp.
