One fire fatality still unidentified: Police
On both the first and second floors, migrant labourers lived on rent, most of them in separate quarters.
Police are yet to ascertain the identity of the body of one of the 10 people killed in the fire that broke out at M. Nirufehi house in the junction of Iskandhar Magu and Koarukendi Magu in Male on Thursday morning.
According to the information shared by the police with the media on Friday, the people identified so far include:

Three Indian women

A Bangladeshi woman

Four Indian men

A Bangladeshi man

Male body still unidentified
Police did not provide further details about them.
The labour quarters built on top of a garage in the Nirufehi house were occupied by Indians, Bangladeshis and Sri Lankans working in the Maldives.
It is learnt that:

The entire building was very congested, fire and rescue sources told the media.
According to the NDMA:

28 migrant workers were rescued from the building where the fire broke out
