Maldives expands second COVID-19 booster coverage to all adults
Since late June, Health Protection Agency (HPA) had been administering the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine to elderly people and high-risk individuals only.
Health authorities in Maldives on Wednesday expanded the COVID-19 vaccine booster campaign to include everyone above the age of 18.
Since late June, Health Protection Agency (HPA) had been administering the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine to elderly people and high-risk individuals only.
HPA said on Wednesday that the second booster shot will be administered to those who have had received the first booster dose at least four months back.

Covid-19 vaccination was introduced in the Maldives in February last year. The government's vaccination drive was well-received by the public.
However, the number of people getting vaccinated and boosted has decreased significantly over the past few months.
