Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has banned the sale of Master Foods Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Cooking Sauce due to the absence of allergen information on its label.
According to a statement issued by the MFDA on Wednesday, the product, manufactured by Mars Australia, contains eggs but does not provide allergen details on its packaging. The company has ordered the product to be removed from the market.
The MFDA stated that the sauce has also entered the Maldives market and that the absence of allergen information poses potential health risks to consumers.
As a precautionary measure, the import and sale of food products without allergen information are prohibited.
