MDP pledges housing for disqualified flat applicants
MDP has also announced plans to assist affected individuals in submitting complaints regarding their disqualification.
The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has pledged to provide housing for those removed from the list of 4,000 flat recipients under the Gedhoruveriya scheme if it returns to power.
The original list, compiled by the previous MDP-led government, included 8,660 eligible applicants. However, the revised list released by the current administration has reduced the number of eligible recipients to 1,820.
At a press conference held on Saturday, MDP Deputy Chairman Ibrahim Waheed stated that the initial list was prepared through a fair process. He added that the party would advocate for those removed from the list.
“We assure all disqualified beneficiaries that they will receive flats in the first housing projects under the next MDP government,” he said.
The MDP has also announced plans to assist affected individuals in submitting complaints regarding their disqualification. A dedicated portal and hotline number (7571637) have been introduced for this purpose, allowing complaints to be submitted via WhatsApp or Viber.
Additionally, complaints can be lodged in person at the party's Dandikoshi camp on Chandhanee Magu between 9:15 pm and 11:30 pm each night.
