Burn victim from Rasdhoo taken off ventilator, family seeks overseas treatment

Ali Samin, a 31-year-old man who sustained serious burn injuries in a fire in AA. Rasdhoo last month, has been removed from a ventilator and moved out of intensive care at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Samin suffered burns to 78% of his body and had been receiving treatment in the ICU under critical condition. According to a source close to the family, although his condition remains serious, he has now been cleared to travel abroad for further medical care.

Samin, an employee at the Bank of Maldives branch in Rasdhoo, is scheduled to be transferred to India for treatment. The family is making arrangements to transport him tomorrow and has appealed for public assistance due to the expected duration and cost of overseas care.

According to reports, the room where the fire occurred was not damaged. Other individuals, including the couple's five-year-old son, were present in the house but were not harmed.

Police have yet to release official information regarding the cause or nature of the incident.
