
PNC receives largest share of political party budget allocation
The Electionx Commission has not yet announced the date on which the funds will be disbursed.
The Elections Commission has announced that the ruling People's National Congress (PNC) will receive the highest allocation of state funding among political parties for this year, amounting to MVR 13.3 million.
The total budget allocated to political parties this year is MVR 28 million. According to the Commission, funds are distributed to parties that had reached a minimum of 10,000 registered members by the time the national budget was approved.
Five parties qualified for funding this year. The allocations are as follows:

PNC: 68,968 members – MVR 13.3 million

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP): 43,755 members – MVR 8.5 million

Jumhooree Party: 13,826 members – MVR 2.7 million

Maldives Development Alliance (MDA): 9,210 members – MVR 1.8 million

Adhaalath Party: 9,049 members – MVR 1.7 million
The figures reflect deductions made for any outstanding fines owed by the parties.
