Baarah MP Ibrahim Shujau has said that the People’s National Congress (PNC), now in power, will ensure employment for party members who have not yet received jobs.
Speaking at a gathering held at the party’s main camp on Wednesday night, Shujau stated that party leaders would visit various regions of the country to communicate the party's direction and leadership message to its general membership.
With local council elections scheduled for April next year, Shujau said the party is preparing to operate in a unified manner following its earlier coalition with the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
"The party’s leadership is travelling to the islands to listen to and address the concerns of members," he said. “If a person from our party has not received employment, they will be provided employment.”
Shujau also noted that President Mohamed Muizzu would lead both the government and the party in an aligned manner.
He recalled the previous coalition’s time in office and claimed that internal dynamics had affected its ability to govern effectively. He referenced feedback received from party supporters during past visits to the islands, stating that the lack of clear leadership contributed to the fall of the previous administration.
Shujau assured party supporters that, under the current structure, the party would be led by its president and leadership without external interference.
