This year’s O-Level examinations commenced Sunday across the Maldives, with more than 8,000 students participating.
The examinations, held after the completion of Grade 10, began Sunday morning with Islam and are being conducted across 260 centres nationwide. According to official figures:

A total of 8,362 students are sitting for the examination this year.

Under current policy, students enrolled in government schools are not required to pay examination fees, as the government covers the costs. Each student is mandated to sit for four compulsory subjects: Dhivehi, Islam, English, and Mathematics.
The O-Level examinations are administered as part of the national secondary education framework and serve as a qualification benchmark for further studies or entry into the job market.
