
No additional public holidays for Eid al-Adha
Government offices are scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, 10th June.
The President’s Office has confirmed that no additional public holidays will be declared for Eid al-Adha beyond what is stated in the official calendar.
Presidential Spokesperson Heena Waleed stated on X (formerly Twitter) that government offices will only observe the holidays already scheduled. The clarification comes amid public speculation on whether additional days would be granted, as has been the practice in some previous years.
Saudi Arabia has declared the Day of Hajj to fall on Thursday, 5th of the next month. In line with the official calendar, public holidays in the Maldives related to Hajj and Eid al-Adha will run through Monday, 9th June.
Government offices are scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, 10th June.
