SOEs awarded contracts to build health facilities in 18 islands

Three state-owned enterprises have been awarded contracts to construct and expand health facilities in 18 islands across the Maldives.

The Ministry of Health awarded the contracts to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Road Development Corporation (RDC), and Fenaka Corporation during a ceremony held yesterday. The total cost of the projects was not disclosed by the ministry.

Under the agreement, RDC will undertake the following projects:

  • Construction of an expansion building for HA. Filladhoo Health Centre

  • Construction of a new building for R. Meedhoo Hospital

  • Construction of an expansion building for M. Mulah Health Centre

  • Construction of a new building for GA. Dhaandhoo Hospital

MTCC has been contracted to carry out construction work in five islands:

  • Construction of an expansion building for HA. Uligamu Health Centre

  • Construction of a new building for HDh. Kumundhoo Health Centre

  • Expansion of R. Innamaadhoo Health Centre

  • Construction of a new building for ADh. Omadhoo Health Centre

  • Expansion of Dh. Hulhudheli Health Centre

Fenaka Corporation has been tasked with projects in nine islands:

  • Expansion of HA. Muraidhoo Health Centre

  • Expansion of HA. Thakandhoo Health Centre

  • Construction of a new building for HA. Molhadhoo Health Centre

  • Expansion of HDh. Neykurendhoo Health Centre

  • Expansion of R. Kinolhas Health Centre

  • Expansion of R. Fainu Health Centre

  • Expansion of R. Rasmaadhoo Health Centre

  • Construction of a new building for R. Maduvvari Health Centre

  • Expansion of Dh. Rinbidhoo Health Centre

The Ministry of Health has previously awarded similar health infrastructure projects to the same three companies.
