Fenaka Corporation has announced that household electricity bills will be charged according to the revised tariff rate from May, following a decision by the government.
President Mohamed Muizzu announced the reduction in the domestic electricity tariff rate last Friday. According to the President, the implementation of the revised rates is effective from June.
In a post on X, Fenaka stated that customers who have already paid their May electricity bills will have the overpaid amount adjusted against their June bills. For customers who have not yet paid their May bills, the invoices will be reissued using the new tariff rates.
The revised tariff rates are as follows:

Band 0–100 units: MVR 1.25 (previously MVR 1.50)

Band 101–200 units: MVR 1.50 (previously MVR 1.70)

Band 201–300 units: MVR 1.50 (previously MVR 2.15)

Band 301–400 units: MVR 1.50 (previously MVR 2.50)

Band 401–500 units: MVR 2.66 (previously MVR 2.95)

Band 501–600 units: MVR 3.20 (previously MVR 3.55)

Band above 600 units: MVR 3.83 (previously MVR 4.25)
