RTL ferry service to launch in Raa Atoll with free rides until 2 July
Following the launch in Raa Atoll, the Ministry stated that Baa Atoll is next in line to receive RTL service.

The Ministry of Transport has announced that the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry service will be launched in Raa Atoll from Thursday. The service will be available to the public free of charge until 2 July.
RTL is an integrated public ferry network established to enhance sea connectivity across the Maldives. With the launch in Raa Atoll, the service will be operational in 10 atolls.
The ferry service is already active in three major zones:

The northern zone, covering Haa Alif, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, and Noonu atolls

The central zone, including Lhaviyani atoll

The southern zone, comprising Gaafu Alif, Gaafu Dhaalu, Fuvahmulah, and Addu
Following the launch in Raa Atoll, the Ministry stated that Baa Atoll is next in line to receive RTL service.
From 2 July onwards, residents of Raa Atoll will be required to purchase tickets to travel. Tickets can be booked through the RTL mobile application and website.
The Ministry of Transport said the RTL service, operated by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), aims to provide a reliable, affordable sea transport network. The project is intended to improve connectivity between islands and support broader economic and social development across the country.
