Kulhudhuffushi row houses reach completion after 11 years
Donbez completed work on 105 row houses in October.

Housing ministry on Saturday began handing over the keys to recipients after completing the row houses in Kulhudhuffushi where construction began 11 years ago.
The construction of row houses in Kulhudhuffushi began 11 years ago when President Mohamed Nasheed handed over the project to Noomadi Resorts and Residences Maldives. Years after the incomplete project was stalled, the process of completing the row houses was resumed by the present government.

Donbez is the business of Mohamed Rasheed, MP from Fuvahmulah North constituency of the ongoing parliament.
Donbez completed work on 105 row houses in October.
Kulhudhuffushi City Council said it has already handed over keys to 27 people who received the row houses. The council also said that the process of handing over houses to the recipients will continue.
The houses are handed over by a team from the Housing Ministry.
Donbez was awarded MVR 47 million to repair the row houses, but by the time the project was completed, it had amounted to MVR 63 million. Speaking at the ceremony held on Wednesday, Kulhudhuffushi Mayor Mohamed Athif said that the price was increased due to changes made on their request.
Some of the changes requested by the council include:

Developing a garden area for recreation and relaxation

Some changes to the structure of the building, including roofs and spouts

Separation of units attached to the ceiling

Converting partitions into walls

conversion of wooden railings on staircases and balconies to Stainless Steel
These places are handed over with completed flooring, kitchen sets and bathroom sets installed.
Of the 105 row houses built in Kulhudhuffushi, only 60% were reserved for the residents of Kulhudhuffushi. The rest of the row houses were opened for people who are from other islands.
