A Bangladeshi national has been arrested at Velana International Airport (VIA) on suspicion of illegally exchanging foreign currency.
Police said 32-year-old Rafiqul Islam was detained on Monday following a tip-off that he was conducting unauthorised dollar transactions in the area where resort counters are located.
According to police, Rafiqul is also identified as an illegal immigrant.
