President’s Office recovers YouTube channel after month-long outage

The channel, which regularly uploads videos of presidential speeches, ceremonies, and official events, was last active on 23 September.

The official YouTube channel of the President’s Office was recovered on Sunday, about a month after it went missing.

The channel, which regularly uploads videos of presidential speeches, ceremonies, and official events, was last active on 23 September, when it published a video of President Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to M. Naalafushi. The channel then became unavailable.

While some local media outlets reported that the disappearance may have been the result of a hacking incident, the President’s Office has not issued a statement on the matter or responded to related questions.

Since the channel went offline, videos of the President’s visits and speeches have not been uploaded to the platform.

As of Sunday, the channel is once again accessible, though no official explanation has been provided regarding the cause of its disappearance or recovery.
