Govt declares Feb 5 holiday as parliament reconvenes

President Mohamed Muizzu has declared Thursday, 5 February 2026, a government holiday.
The announcement was made through Directive No. 3/2026, issued by the President’s Office Tuesday.

The President made this declaration as the day on which the Presidential Address is delivered to the People’s Majlis, pursuant to Article 84 of the constitution, is traditionally observed as a government holiday.
