Falah says government plans projects with secured budgets
He said that under previous administrations, projects were initiated without adequate budget provisions, resulting in incomplete works.
Parliamentary Majority Leader Ibrahim Falah on Friday said the current government plans projects in advance and secures budgetary allocations before implementation to ensure continuity.
Falah made the remarks while speaking at the launch of the People’s National Congress campaign for the Fuvahmulah City Council. He said that under previous administrations, projects were initiated without adequate budget provisions, resulting in incomplete works.
He said the current administration follows a process in which projects are discussed with the cabinet and relevant ministries, planned in advance, and supported by allocated funding. Falah said the government secures financing to both commence and complete projects before implementation.
Referring to the administration of President Mohamed Muizzu, Falah said the government aims to fulfil its commitments in full and that project implementation forms part of a broader policy approach.
Falah also said President Muizzu had visited 188 inhabited islands since taking office and stated that these visits were not related to election activities. He said changes had been made to address issues related to student behaviour, public safety in Malé, and employment opportunities.
He added that legislative amendments are being pursued through parliament to support job creation and legal reforms.
Falah called on the public to support the current administration, stating that the government intends to complete its term with a focus on project delivery and policy implementation.
