2 men arrested over grooming, sexual assault of minor

Maldives Police Service has arrested two men on suspicion of grooming and sexually assaulting a minor.
Police said on Thursday that the arrests were made during a joint operation involving the Family and Child Protection Unit, Crime Intelligence, and a regional police station.
The alleged victim is a 15-year-old girl. Police did not disclose further details in order to protect her identity.
Those arrested are:

Mohamed Ihsan, 21, of Kasthoorige, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi

Ali Hassan, 44, of Silvester, Kulhudhuffushi
Police said Mohamed Ihsan was arrested on 3 February and is being held in remand until 6 March.
Ali Hassan was arrested on 24 December and is being held in remand until 1 March.
The investigation is ongoing.
